Throwback Thursday: Joe Versus The Volcano

Mar 21 • by admin • 2 Comments#tbt, joe versus the volcano

This is a moviestill from the first of the three Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movies, Joe Versus The Volcano. Meg plays several characters in this one. When the movie was released in 1990 it didn’t get a lot of good reviews, but since then it has become somewhat of a cult classic! If you’ve never seen it, you should give it a try!

Apr 28 • by admin • 3 Commentsjoe versus the volcano

Famous movie critic Roger Ebert selected the movie Joe Versus The Volcano as one of the movies for this year’s edition of his annual festival ‘Eberfest’. This is the first of the three movies starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. If you click on the picture below, you can see an HQ version of the lobbycards!

“”Joe versus the Volcano” (1990) will play at 7 p.m. April 25, as our opening night film. No film has almost played in Ebertfest more often than this one. Nate may be able to confirm that it’s been shortlisted in at least ten of the past years. Something always came along to crowd it out. Because it was often rumored to be a selection, people started to badger me about when they’d finally be able to see it, and we determined that this would be the year. (…)”
