Time for another throwback Thursday #tbt post! This time not a collage, but two photos of Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks at the premiere of Sleepless In Seattle back in 1993. Always a pleasure to see pictures of Meg and Tom! Thanks to Adelaide Kane Web for donating these!
Added over a dozen photos from Meg’s Tao class at the Taormina Film Fest yesterday (the ones the usual celeb-hate sites don’t want you to see, wink wink!). She was interviewed by the Fest director Mari Setti and the audience members. See the posts below for quotes!
Also adding a videoclip with some quotes in this post, including the ones about WHMS and Daisy. Wish there was more footage from the interview, but this will have to do for now! Will add more videofootage on Sunday!!
Added a dozen picture from this morning’s photocall at the Taormina Film Fest in Sicily. After the photocall, Meg was interviewed for an hour in front of an audience by the film festival’s director.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for loads more pictures of the photocall, the Tao class, videofootage and quotes from Meg about what she’s doing next, anecdotes about her movies and her kids and her reaction to the tragic and sudden death of James Gandolfini yesterday.
Meg Ryan attended the ‘Lucky Guy’ Broadway Opening Night at The Broadhurst Theatre and the after party at Gotham Hall last night in New York City. ‘Lucky Guy’ was written by the late Nora Ephron and stars none other than Meg’s three times co-star Tom Hanks.
The gallery has been updated with three albums featuring three red carpet events from the nineties, the movie premieres of ‘Addicted To Love’ (1997) and ‘Joe Versus The Volcano’ (1990) and Premiere’s ‘Women In Hollywood’ luncheon (1999). Big TY to J. for helping me with these.
Meg’s son Jack (20) has posted a very sweet video on his official Twitter page @jackquaid92, showing him asking sister Daisy Ryan (7) a series of questions to prepare for promotional interviews for The Hunger Games in March of this year. And yes, the best strategy is to have a strategy!LOL! So cute!
“Made this video back in March before the HG mall tour. My sister gives great advice.”
Jack has also been out and about this past week promoting a short film he starred in, called ‘Sitting Babies’, at the 2012 Hollyshort filmfestival – it won one of the awards – and the release of the The Hunger Games DVD. Added two videolinks to interviews with Jack and the director of ‘Sitting Babies’. Enjoy!
Meg took part in a panel for the PBS/Half The Sky documentary, together with America Ferrera and NY Times journalist Nicholas Kristoff at the Televison Critics Association Press Tour 2012 in Los Angeles on Sunday. You can read more about the panel discussion at a.o. the Access Hollywood and METRO websites. And the Half The Sky Twitter page has even more quotes from the panel members.
Meg took a break from John’s tour in Canada to attended the memorial service for Nora Ephron, held at the Lincoln Center in NYC on Monday morning. Added 20+ pictures to the gallery. You can read more about the memorial service here at the BBC website.
EDITED 07-11: Liz Smith has a lovely story about the memorial service for Nora Ephron, also mentioning Meg. You can read it here at the ‘The Women on the Web’ site.
Meg’s back in New York again. She attended the Equality Now 20th Anniversary event at the Asia Society in NYC on Thursday evening. Equality Now’s mission is to achieve legal and systemic change that addresses violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world. Two days earlier Meg was seen walking around in Soho while talking on her phone (thanks J.!).
