Meg will be present for a lunch at the 2012 PBS annual meeting, together with Nicholas Kristof, Olivia Wilde and Sheryl Wudunn on May 15th. Their presence at the meeting is related to the Half The Sky documentary series for PBS, to be aired early October this year. Meg traveled to Cambodia with New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof last November to visit the Somaly Mam Foundation. Reald more about that trip at our website.
The PBS meeting will be held in Denver, Colorady, May 14-17. You can find more information on the annual meeting at the PBS website. This is what they have about the lunch:
“Join us for a lunch celebrating “Half the Sky,” with special guests including Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists and authors Nick Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, as well as actors and philanthropists Meg Ryan and Olivia Wilde. Brought to life by the production company behind “Carrier” and “Circus,” Show of Force has traveled the globe bringing stories of inspiring women and girls to television in this four-hour PBS special based on the best-selling book of the same name. The lunch will also serve as a first look at exclusive footage from the upcoming film.
“Half the Sky” is a centerpiece of the multi-year public media initiative Women and Girls Lead, spearheaded by ITVS, and a special presentation of Independent Lens. (…)”
